Supervision
I am a fully qualified supervisor having achieved the Diploma in Supervision awarded by the National Counselling Society.

What I Provide:
The aim of supervision, is to provide clinical support to YOU, the supervisee towards working to best practice. I hold a pluralistic perspective, believing that there is no ‘best’ way of supervising. Different supervisees need different things at different times. I value a number of different therapeutic approaches. These include talking methods, creative interventions, Cognitive Behavioral interventions, coaching techniques. I will also want to get to know you as a person & understand you in the context of your life as a whole.

Counselling not only involves you as a professional counsellor, you also bring yourself & your life experiences to the work that you do with your clients. I see a part of my role as understanding you as a person & understanding the things that may impact your work, so that I can protect you & your clients, & also offer you support & help in your counselling work. It is important to me that we can have open & honest discussions & that you will feel comfortable to bring not only your successes, but your mistakes as well. We all make them!
I hope you will find supervision a safe enough space to bring these, so that we can work together in making the best version of ‘you’.
I offer a free, 45 minute, no obligation session which gives you the opportunity to come & meet with me, or alternatively this can be done over zoom, to talk about what you would hope to get from supervision.

At this initial session I can tell you more about how I work and what I can offer to you in supervision. This meeting will give you an opportunity of deciding whether you feel comfortable with me, along with hearing about how I work as a supervisor, helping you to decide whether you would like to work with me as your supervisor.

Together we will agree a contract of how often we will meet. This may vary depending on the accrediting body you are a member of, however a minimum of 1.5 hours is recommended per month. It is possible that your training provider or agency that you are working for may have additional requirements, please be aware that it is your responsibility to understand these requirements. The contract will detail all necessary Supervisor rights & responsibilities & Supervisee rights & responsibilities, which you able, through discussion to add to if you so wish.

If you are not working in the counselling/psychotherapy area, I have also given Supervision support to: military personnel, NHS members & those in a variety of private companies.
